GERA has made its response to TfL on its second round Consulation regarding its further proposals.  These include alterations to the traffic flow arrangements at the junctions of Duke Raod and Dukes Avenue with Chiswich High Road

GERA is deeply concerned about the increased traffic levels on the Estate that these new proposals will generate and their effect on access to Estate.

GERA has carried out its own traffic counts and traffic analysis of the proposals and these show that, when implemented, the changes to junctions of Dukes Avenue and Duke Road with Chiswick High Road will cause traffic in Duke Road to increase by 47% and traffic in Bourne Place to increase by 163% at peak times.

These increases will cause chaos and gridlock in these streets and TfL must consider some alternative solution to the issues they are seeking to address.

GERA considers that the simplest solution is to leave these important entry and exit points to the Estate as they are with traffic able to flow in each direction but to control matters by an additional set of traffic lights at the Duke Road/Chiswick High Road/Fisher’s Lane junction.  This will help traffic from the Glebe Estate as well as control the flow of traffic out of Fisher’s which often caused problems in Chiswick High Road at the moment.
